Do I have to go to all the activities and classes offered?2021-02-22T09:58:48+00:00

No, this retreat is about YOU. You can opt in or out of what ever you like! If you need more poolside rest, spa time, an afternoon nap or wish to simply read a book- the space is yours and we support that!

Do I have to be able to meditate?2021-02-22T09:58:02+00:00

No. Each morning we will start gently, and guide you through an easy warming practice of movement as well as teaching and guiding you through a simple meditation practice with practical tips on how to use mindfulness meditation when you get home to help calm your nervous system, reduce stress and improve clarity and focus.

What does the average day look like?2021-03-04T19:35:18+00:00

There will be gentle movement and meditation practice each morning, followed by leisurely breakfast overlooking the gorgeous countryside. Then the opportunity to attend an inspired workshop lecture, followed by a longer pilates or yoga class.  The afternoon will include your own free time and relaxation practices as well as one pampering spa afternoon, followed by dinner. Workshop and teaching time each day will include your step by step guide in a supportive environment to start utilising the Rise UP method.

Do I need to be good at yoga?2021-02-22T09:57:02+00:00

No! All classes are inclusive for beginners and we are here to offer you a relaxed retreat! Yoga will be at a beginner to intermediate level only. If you are not up to completing a class you can simply relax, lie down and enjoy some music- this retreat is about YOU. (And there are no gold medals for the best downward facing dog!)

Do I have to sit in a circle with other women and share my story?2021-02-22T09:56:28+00:00

No. This retreat is about supporting YOU. You will receive a take-home manual (to guide you through the Rise UP method) and reflection journal where you will be able to write down your own personal thoughts and reflections- this is for your eyes only. You will be guided through some reflective journaling questions that you can keep all to yourself. As a woman who has navigated major life challenges, I can understand how daunting it can be to be in a group! You can share as little or as much as you like with the other wonderful women on retreat and you are fully supported. Remember we each have our own stories, and on retreat, we share as much or as little as we feel to- either in group time or during break and relaxation time. The choice is completely yours. I am here to help you navigate and if you need to speak to me personally throughout the retreat time I am here for you. Women who have attended find the retreat positive, authentic, supportive and encouraging of each other- wherever you happen to be in the journey of life.

I’m still not sure, what if…..

As a facilitator, I understand there can always be apprehension before booking on a retreat, ESPECIALLY if you have been navigating a life challenge!

I can recall when I was barely able to leave the house with anxiety and grief, the hesitation I had before booking myself for some time out.

  • What if I embarrassed myself or cried on retreat?
  • What if I didn’t like any of the women on retreat or didn’t fit in?
  • What if I didn’t like the food? Or my bed?
  • What if I just felt a bit too scared to try something new?

Soon I made some room for different what if’s:

  • What if I met some amazing women and made some great friends?
  • What if this is exactly what I need to help me recover?
  • What if I managed to completely relax, allow myself to be pampered and surrendered just for once into being able to receive?
  • What if this retreat changed my life’s path and helped me move forward?

Allowing my mind to expand into all of the what if’s, the positive possibilities, and taking the leap was the best decision I had ever made for myself.  Yes, I was apprehensive, but my option was to stand at the crossroads forever or just take a chance, take the leap and book in.

If you’re unsure, have further personal questions I ask for you to simply give me a call and I am happy to check in with you on the phone. It might be that a retreat is too soon for you! (Or it just might be the best thing you have ever done for yourself.)
